.tv is the national internet domain of Tuvalu, a small country in the Pacific.
As TV also stands for television it came to be popular with streaming sites. In 1998 the government of Tuvalu took ownership of the domain, to capitalise by earning money from it. As of 2019, 8.4% of its revenue came from the domain.
