Bocage

Bocage is a name describing the countryside in Normandy, France. It consists of small farms and orchards divided by large hedgerows which can be hundreds of years old. These bushes are so dense that they can present significant obstacles to transportation.

During World War II, the Germans used this terrain to their advantage while they were defending against the Allied invasion.
