Great Britain
(Redirected from Britain)
Great Britain is a term for England, Scotland and Wales (constituents of the United Kingdom together with Northern Ireland). It was created by the Act of Union of 1707 and was a separate country until the creation of the United Kingdom in 1801.
In common parlance, "Great Britain" and "the United Kingdom" are often used interchangeably. Often the country is called simply "Britain" or "GB".
