Celtic language

From Encyc
Where Celtic people have lived.

The celtic language is an Indo-European language, spoken by people of the Celtis culture. People spoke a celtic language in most of what is now Spain and what is now France, before those regions were conquered by ancient Rome. Those languages are now lost. The languages derived from the Celtic language that remain today are: Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Cornish, Breton, and Manx.
