Dagger

A dagger is a strong, thin, tapered combat knife that was most popular when fighters wore armour.

Its shape made it very useful to deliver a disabling or fatal wound to an armored opponent, at very close range, particularly when the opponent had lost his horse, and was lying on the ground. The user would employ the dagger with a deep stab between joints in the opponent's armour, or where it was weak.
