Dyfngwm mine

From Encyc
The remains of the Dyfngwm mine

The Dyfngwm mine, aka Castle Rock, was a lead, zinc and copper mine in central Wales. It was located just south-west of the former village of Dylife.

Mining at the site is believed to predate the Romans, but became most active in Victorian times.

It had developments in the 1850s and 1860s such as waterwheels and steam engines.[1] The mine was abandonded in 1935.[2]

Only a few shallow grassed over diggings remain.[3]
