Iceland

Iceland is an island nation located in the northern Atlantic Ocean. It lies between Ireland and Greenland. It was settled by Vikings, and maintains close ties with Denmark.

Until the 20th century, the inhabitants often bordered on the verge of starvation. With the rise of industrialized fishing they have done much better economically.
