John McCain
John McCain was a republican United States Senator from Arizona. He ran for President in 2008 but lost to Barack Obama.
During the Vietnam War he served in the Air Force. He was shot down over North Vietnam, captured, and held as a Prisoner of War for years, where he was tortured.
In 2016 he famously voted against a republican budget bill, destroying any hope republicans had of passing it.
He came under fire from president Donald Trump for voting against the bill. Trump attacked him on twitter.
He died in 2018.
