According to Choe Su-yong, a former official with South Korea's National Intelligence Service, citing his contacts within North Korea, Kim Ryo-sim is Kim Jong-un's fourth and youngest child.[1] Choe says that the child's mother's name is unknown, and the child's gender is unknown..

Choe says the mother's background is known -- she was born in Japan, to parents of Korean background. Japan's Korean residents are subject to discrimination. Like Germany and Saudi Arabia, Japan does not Grant citizenship to children born in Japan -- birthright citizenship. Circa 1900 the Japanese empire involuntarily conscripted large numbers of Koreans for hard labor jobs in Japan. These Korean workers, and their children, continued to work as slave labor, in Japan, until the end of World War 2. Over a million ethnically Korean people continue to live in Japan, still subject to discrimination, still not eligible for Japanese citizenship. While moving to South Korea required proving eligibility, North Korea made it easy for the descendants of Korean slave laborers to come live in North Korea. Some individuals, including Kim Ryo-sim's mother did that.

Choe says Kim Ryo-sim's mother is a pianist.[1]
