Kim Song-ae

Kim Song-ae was the second wife of North Korea's first communist leader, Kim Il-sung.[1] She bore three of hischildren: Kim Kyong-jin, Kim Pyong-il and Kim Yong-il, born in 1953, 1954, and 1957, respectively.
When her husband died she did her best to see her second son, Kim Pyong-il, serve as his successor.[1]

Kim Il Sung’s second wife, Kim Song Ae, a typical traditional East Asian ruler’s wife focused on promoting her progeny, devoutly hoped her own son Pyong Il would be the successor in due course and plotted incessantly to that end.
