Leeswood
Appearance

Leeswood is a village about 3.5 miles south-east of the town of Mold in Flintshire, Wales. It has a population of about 2000.
The area has historically been the location of coal mining. Leeswood Green Colliery was where the Mold Riots of 1869 started.[1]
Until 1844 Leeswood was part of Mold parish. It was then made part of the new Pontblyddyn parish, as one of its two townships.[2]
Leeswood has its own community council. Since 2016 it has been called Leeswood and Pontblyddyn Community Council because the community also includes the village of Pontblyddyn.[3] The community covers roughly the same area as the old Pontblyddyn parish.
