Lion
The lion (Panthera leo) is a member of the panther or large cat genus of carnivora.
It is found wild mainly in Africa, though there are a few in India. The male is noted for havinga mane of hair round his head.
Behaviors of Lions[edit]
Lions are cats that live in groups, which are called prides. Prides are family units that may comprise anywhere from two to 40 lions with up to to three or four males, a dozen or so females, and their young. All the pride's lionesses are related and female cubs typically stay with the group as they age. Young males eventually leave and establish their own prides by taking over a group headed by another male.[1]
