Llanbethery
Llanbethery (Llanbydderi in Welsh) is a small village in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales.
"Llan" refers to a church or parish, but despite the name, Llanbethery has never been a parish. It is a linear settlement which grew around one of the eight ancient chapels of Llancarfan parish.[1] The second part of the place name may relate to "byddar" (deaf), making the place name mean the "church of the deaf", compare Llanybydder.
For a time the village had a pub, the Masons Arms.[2]
A flood plain known as Llanbethery Moor is located to the west of the village.
