Llancarfan

Llancarfan is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It is located about 4 miles west of Barry.
A monastery was founded in Llancarfan some time around 650 AD. Around 1200 the monastery had been destroyed, but the site remained in use as St Cadoc's Church. It still stands as the parish church today.[1]
Today the area is governed by Llancarfan Community Council. It also includes the nearby settlements of Llancadle, Llanbethery, Pancross, Pen-onn, Walterston, Moulton, and the parish of Llantrithyd.
