Llandysiliogogo

From Encyc
St Tysilio's Church

Llandysiliogogo is a parish/community in Ceredigion, Wales. It includes the settlements of Cwmtydu, Nanternis, Caerwedros, Llwyndafydd, Penbontrhydyfothau, Plwmp, Pisgah and Talgarreg. Historically the parish also included Capel Cynon,[1] which is today part of Troedyraur.

St Tysilio's Church is the parish church, located just north of Llwyndafydd.[2] It possibly dates back to the 13th century, but was partly rebuilt in 1825-26 and restored in 1890.[3] The parish gets its name from this church - Llandysilio means "St Tysilio's church" and gogo is from gogof, an archaic form of ogof meaning "cave". St Mark's Church at Gwenlli and St David's Church at Talgarreg are also in the parish.[4][5]

As of 2011 the community had a population of 1,131.
