A Panther tank was a German tank that was introduced midway through World War II. Copying the Soviet T-34, Panthers had sloping armor. Hitler really liked this tank, and delayed the start of the Battle of Kursk until he felt he had sufficient numbers of them to start.
Panthers compared well with Allied tanks through the Normandy campaign, but at the Battle of Arracourt they were routed.
