Qupanuk Olsen is a Greenland engineer, politician, and YouTuber.[1] She was already known, to the outside world, for her YouTube videos about Greenland, when President Donald Trump surprised the world with his plans to annex Greenland, which triggered increased media attention.[2][3][4]

Political career
[edit | edit source]Olsen represents Greenland's opposition party in Greenland's legislature.[1] Olsen believes Greenland should cut its remaining political ties to Denmark, which retains control of Greenland's foreign affairs.[5]
CBC News sought Olsen's comments on March 28, 2025, after Vice President JD Vance visited Greenland, following the controversial visit of his wife, Usha Vance.[4][1] Oslen noted that, in the end, the Vice President confined his visit to the USA's base. Advance teams, supporting his wife's visit, had tried, and failed, to find a single Greenlander who would agree to welcome her to Greenland.[6][7]
