Rhuddlan is a town about 3 miles south of Rhyl in north Wales. It is best known as the location of Rhuddlan Castle.

In 2011 it had a population of 3,709.

The name Rhuddlan comes from the Welsh words "rhudd" (red) and "glan" (river bank). The settlement at Rhuddlan is believed to have a history of over 3,000 years.[1]

Rhuddlan was also a parish in Flintshire.[2] In 1974 it was made part of the District of Rhuddlan, and in 1996 it became part of Denbighshire as it is today.
