Rhuddlan Castle

From Encyc

Rhuddlan Castle in north Wales was built from 1277 to 1282 by King Edward I. It was built at the same time as Flint Castle, as part of England's conquest of Wales.

In the 15th and 16th centuries its importance diminished and by the 18th century it was mostly a ruin.

The ruins of the castle still stand today in the town of Rhuddlan.
