Welcome to my talk page

I am an admin here and will be happy to help in any way I can but please remember:

 • I only enforce the rules (gently, I hope?), not make them. If you disagree with the rules, this is not the place for that discussion. Please take the matter to Auggie, our friendly benevolent dictator.
 • Please avoid personal attacks or any sort of uncivil behaviour. We don't have many rules here but please respect Encyc:Conduct.

Hey good to see you Alexander. Thanks for helping to clean up that vandalism. Auggie (talk) 18:06, 28 January 2017 (CST)

No problem. I noticed you needed a babysitter. Alexander (talk) 18:27, 28 January 2017 (CST)

Thanks again

It's good to know you're keeping an eye on the place. Auggie (talk) 08:58, 4 February 2018 (CST)

RevDel

Could you delete the revert edit summaries too? It shows the username when you don't. 1966 [•] 22:41, 19 April 2018 (CDT)

Yes, I just realized this. Great minds or something? Alexander (talk) 22:42, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
Yes. 1966 [•] 22:43, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
Someone's stalking my edits. Not sure if I should feel flattered or worried. Alexander (talk) 22:44, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
Hah, I just checked recent changes... now i'm waiting for a response.. 1966 [•] 22:45, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
I just did a few. Not going through the entire userlist, that would be crazy. That may be a day long task for some other day. Alexander (talk) 23:06, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
Are you a 'crat? 1966 [•] 23:10, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
Oops, you're not. Could someone make me an admin> 1966 [•] 23:12, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
Excuse me, could I have rollback? 1966 [•] 23:36, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
You're asking me for things I can't do. I'm just an admin. Probably the most active one here but I'm nobody special. There's only one guy who can do that stuff and that's Auggie. He's also the only 'crat. It's a benevolent dictatorship around here so there's always going to be one. This wouldn't be the place to ask anyways. You had it right the first time. Personally though, if I were Auggie, I'd be wary of someone who just created an account and asked to be an admin in the same day (no offense intended). Do stuff around here for a while, get to know people, etc then ask. That's just my opinion. Alexander (talk) 23:51, 19 April 2018 (CDT)
I would be suspicious too! OK, thanks. 1966 [•] 00:00, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
Hey, could you revdel the history of the blog page? 1966 [•] 00:08, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
I was right in the middle of that actually when you said something. Done now. Alexander (talk) 00:11, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
You also need to delete the revisions themselves, because they sign them, so you can still see the usernames.   1966   16:22, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
Really? I have half a mind not to care because there's no actual policy that says this needs to be done. We're pretty relaxed here and there's hardly any rules at all besides common sense and good judgment. Alexander (talk) 20:18, 20 April 2018 (CDT)

a little thing..

Could you delete this page? 1966 [•] 01:23, 20 April 2018 (CDT)

No but I'll explain why. Auggie already renamed the user to Unfriendly (talk · contribs), so the talk page was moved/renamed accordingly. It is just a redirect that you see. There's not much of a point in deleting redirects. It's a thing that MediaWiki does automatically when you rename a user - their user and talk pages get moved and the old location is redirected. I'm not going to lose any sleep over an objectionably worded redirect or two. Alexander (talk) 02:20, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
If it's already well-hidden I prefer to leave things as is. MediaWiki is really clumsy when it comes to handling deletions and it's easy to get mixed up and lose content. It also helps build trust with the community to leave them access to old revisions. Auggie (talk) 13:46, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
Okay, it was just that it would appear when you searched up "user talk:auggie" . Thanks for clarification.   1966   15:35, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
Oh I get it now. I didn't see that it's that other user:talk auggie and blah blah blah. Probbaly comes up in the drop down list when you search. I'll try to fix that. Auggie (talk) 15:57, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
I deleted the page that was doing the redirecting. Thanks for the heads up. Auggie (talk) 15:58, 20 April 2018 (CDT)
Thanks!   1966   16:10, 20 April 2018 (CDT)

Thanks for Helping

Thanks for helping with Never Split Tens. I'm glad you're such an active editor. Encyc is such a nice place, and I'm sure Auggie is happy you're here. Thanks again. Drlesmgolden (talk) 10:19, 26 April 2018 (CDT)

You're welcome. Happy to help if I can. Alexander (talk) 11:12, 26 April 2018 (CDT)

Biographies of living persons

Too be honest, there are other articles that have been created, not by me that are on there. Encyc is an encyclopedia of everything, so famous people count. I don't think that famous articles of people need to be deleted. People will then use Encyc more than Wikipedia and that's good for us because then Wikipedia will then shut down and we will be the No.1 best Wiki site. The Vixen (talk) 14:45, 14 August 2018 (CDT)

Firstly, I didn't make that rule so it's nothing to do with me. Secondly, I have to follow those rules, whether I agree with them or not. Thirdly, if I find other pages that are against the rules, I will delete them. I'm not singling you out, if that's what you think. However, and not to be a dick, but you still have to delete that page. I did tell you yesterday. That's kind of what "that page has to go" means. Thank you.
I doubt Wikipedia will ever shut down but it's nice to hope so. Never going to happen. Alexander (talk) 08:49, 14 August 2018 (CDT)

Yes it would, because if keep the famous people articles here, that means people will use our site rather than Wikipedia. Without people contributing to Wikipedia, it will close down. That is why I am persuading every user on Wikipedia to dump that piece of poop and join here. Problem solved! You see, i'm trying to destroy Wikipedia for good, that's why I quit it in the first place and decided to join here. The Vixen (talk) 15:03, 14 August 2018 (CDT)

Look, if you want to change the rules, go talk to Auggie. My hands are tied. I have no power to do anything here. You know what it's like being an admin, yes? Now maybe, on a good day, if I'm extremely lucky, I have some input into existing policies. But I have zero power to change them. I really don't mean to be mean here but I don't think you understand that I can't do anything about it. I am only an admin (albeit the most active one), not a bureaucrat (which there is only one of. Can you guess who that is?). If you want to debate the merits of changing a rule, that is not my department. Go talk to Auggie. If the rules say something, I have to follow them too. Until they're changed. Alexander (talk) 09:05, 14 August 2018 (CDT)
