Vienna

Vienna (Wien in German) is the capital of Austria and was the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was an important centre during the era of Romanticism.

It is on the Danube River and serves as a link between eastern and western Europe.

Vienna was the farthest advance of the Ottoman Turks. They besieged it in 1529 and again in 1683, but it never fell.
