Ystrad Meurig is a village in Ceredigion, Wales. It is also a community, including Swyddffynnon and Tynygraig.[1] As of 2011 the community had a population of 353.

A grammar school was founded at Ystrad Meurig around 1734, by Edward Richard, a local scholar and poet. It prepared candidates for holy orders.[2] It later became a school just for the village, before closing in 1973.

The church, dedicated to St John the Baptist, is believed to have Celtic origins. In the 19th century it was downgraded to a chapel of Ysbyty Ystwyth parish. In the 1890s the church was demolished and a new one was built at the same site, becoming a parish church again.[3]
