Dwyriw

From Encyc

Dwyriw is a community in Powys, Wales, and the historic area of Montgomeryshire.

It has four settlements: Adfa, Cefn Coch, Llanllugan, and Llanwyddelan.[1]

As of 2011, Dwyriw had a population of 571. The name of Dwyriw comes from its location between two tributaries of the Afon Rhiw, the name "Dwyriw" in Welsh literally means "Two Rhiw".

It was previously a township in the parish of Manafon. However this township was made up of just a few farms and excluded any major settlements.[2] Llanllugan and Llanwyddelan were originally parishes in their own right.
