Evenjobb (Einsiob in Welsh) is a village in Powys, Wales. It was historically part of Radnorshire.
The name means "Emma's remote enclosed valley". It was recorded as Emynghop in 1304 and as Evyngeopp in 1534. Influence from the Welsh language is probably to blame for the changes from its original form to its current name.[1]
Evenjobb was originally a township in the parish of Old Radnor.[2] It was also its own civil parish. In 1974 civil parishes became communities in Wales, and it was renamed to Evenjobb, Newcastle, Barland and Burva. The community was abolished in 1983.[3]
St Peter's Church in Evenjobb was built in 1866.[4]
The population of Evenjobb civil parish was last recorded in 1971; at that time it was 154.[5]
