Old Radnor

Old Radnor (Pencraig in Welsh) is a village in Powys, Wales, near the border with England. Historically it was part of Radnorshire. It is also a community including several nearby villages, with a population around 750.
The village appears in the Domesday Book as Raddrenove, referring to a red ridge or bank. It was distinguish as "Old" Radnor by the 13th century, after New Radnor was established.[1]
St Stephen's Church dates to pre-Norman times, originally dedicated to a 6th-century saint named Ystyffan, before being anglicised to Stephen. It was burnt by Glyndwr in 1401 and subsequently rebuilt. A font is said to date to the 8th century, claimed to be the oldest piece of church furniture in England and Wales.[1]
There was a motte and bailey castle there, called Castle Nimble.[1]
