Latin America
Latin America is a collective term for those countries in Central America and South America where the predominant language is Spanish or Portuguese (both members of the Latin language family). The main such countries are Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
The only countries in Central or South America where neither Spanish nor Portuguese predominate are Suriname (Dutch); Guyana and Belize (English); and French Guiana (French).
