River Duhonw
Appearance

The River Duhonw (Afon Duhonw in Welsh) is a small river in Powys, Wales. Historically it was part of Brecknockshire.
The river rises in the uplands of Mynydd Epynt. In its earlier parts it is known as Blaen Duhonw. "Blaen" is a Welsh word referring to the source of a river.
The only settlement of note on the river is Llanddewi'r Cwm, a small church village. It joins the River Wye near Aberduhonw farm.
It gives its name to the community of Duhonw, which was created in 1985. The river runs through the community for almost its entire length.
Earlier forms of the name were "Duhawn-wg" and "Dihonw".[1] The name is possibly a corruption of "Du-hawn-wy".[2]
