  1. The Wizard of Oz is basically the best movie ever. It was the first major movie in color and stars Judy Garland. It tells the story of young Dorothy who finds herself far from home in the land of Oz. Dorothy makes friends with a cowardly lion, a scarecrow, and the tin man. Together they run away from the Wicked Witch of the West to get to the Emerald City. Many believe that all movies are trying to create a movie with a similar format to The Wizard of Oz.
  2. The Big Lebowski - pretty much a love letter to Hollywood and all the characters who live in the area
  3. Saving Private Ryan - best war movie ever made
  4. Young Frankenstein - Great comedy and great black and white visual style
  5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Silly movie about King Arthur.
  6. Airplane! - Silly disaster movie.
  7. Ruthless People - Second greatest 80s comedy in a decade of great comedies
  8. Office Space - Documentary of modern office jobs.
  9. The Fellowship of the Ring - Best of the Lord of the Rings movies.
  10. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Villain literally pulls human hearts out.
  11. Pulp Fiction - The reason Tarantino is so famous.
  12. Catch Me If You Can - Two mice fell into a bucket of cream...
  13. Troop Beverly Hills - Shelley Long leads a group of wilderness scouts.
  14. A Bridge Too Far - Second best war movie
  15. Cars - Greatest computer animated movie ever.

  18. The Shawshank Redemption - Jailbreak story. Boring-sounding concept but really inspiring. Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.
  19. Little Women - Immersive story about five girls growing up in the civil war era. Many versons made but the one with Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, and Kirsten Dunst is the best.
  20. The Caine Mutiny - About the strawberries, using mathematical precision. Humphrey Bogart.
  21. The Empire Strikes Back - Special effects, striking visuals, and darker tone than other Star Wars
  22. True Romance - greatest Tarantino movie even though he only wrote it.

  24. Schindler's List - Holocaust movie
  25. The Princess Bride - Immersive historical fiction story with swordfights and castles.
  26. Let It Ride - Richard Dreyfuss and Teri Garr in a gambling movie at a track in Miami.
  27. Ghost World - Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansen deal with the world after high school.
  28. Cutter's Way - Psychological thriller that perfectly captures the transition from post-Vietnam era to the 1980s.

  46. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles - John Hughes movie about adults. Greatest Thanksgiving movie ever made.

  76. True Grit (2010) - Better than the John Wayne version. Girl avenges her father's murder.

  78. Open Range - Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall. Gunfights are excellent.
