Bettws Disserth
Appearance

Bettws Disserth (spelt Betws Diserth in Welsh) was a parish in Powys, Wales. It was in Radnorshire, south-east of Llandrindod Wells. There was no settlement of note within the parish.
The parish church was located on the west bank of the River Edw. Originally it was probably a chapel of ease to the parish of Disserth, and in 1887 it was made part of Llansantffraed in Elwel. It was first recorded as The Bettus in 1546 and as Betws yn elfel c.1562. Bettws means "prayer house".[1]
St Mary's Church was rebuilt in 1883.[1]
When the parish's population was last recorded in 1971, it was only 42.[2] In 1974 it became a community and it was abolished in 1983.[3] It is now part of Glascwm community.
