Sennybridge

From Encyc

Sennybridge (Pontsenni in Welsh) is a village in Powys, Wales. Historically it was part of Brecknockshire, in the parish of Defynnog. Today it is part of Maescar community.

Both the English and Welsh names of the village refer to a bridge over the River Senni. Sennybridge is located where the Senni joins the River Usk.

Sennybridge is best known for the Sennybridge Training Area, a large military training area to the north of the village. Soldiers use Sennybridge Camp, at Rhydybriw just north of Sennybridge, on the opposite side of the River Usk.
