The Afon Ysgir, shown near Aberyscir

The Afon Ysgir (or Yscir) is a river in Powys, Wales. The river is made up of two major tributaries: The Ysgir Fawr ("big Ysgir") and the Ysgir Fechan ("little Ysgir").

The Ysgir Fawr has its source at Mynydd Epynt in the Sennybridge Training Area. It then flows south, past Merthyr Cynog, and joins the Ysgir Fechan at Pontfaen.

The Ysgir Fechan also has its source at Mynydd Epynt, and flows past the tiny hamlet of Pont Rhyd-y-berry before joining the Ysgir Fawr.

After the two tributaries join, the river flows through Battle and Aberyscir (Aberysgir), where it joins the River Usk. This part of the river gives its name to the community of Yscir.
